Herein lies the problem though, right? We must be accountable for the sources we trust as “the truth”. And reputable media outlets must be accountable for sourcing video that is an accurate representation of the truth. And not cave to the pressure of “first to share” by sharing content without any idea of where or how it’s been processed.
Most of us are iPhone toting citizen journalists these days…but it certainly seems easy (and perhaps become more common) to manipulate a video and have it published as truth in the frenzy of some real time event.
