Absolutely, speaking from experience of having both hired folks in to early stage startups, and myself being someone who has excelled In early stage companies where chaos and ambiguity are tempered through being a generalist over a specialist. I now use the term “athletes” when describing the types of folks to hire in a startup — as in they are naturally competitive at many things, flexible, strong, multi-talented.
